Ras Al Khaimah, Oct 22: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, today held talks with Yang Haoming, Mayor of Zhaoqing Municipal Government in the Guangdong Province of China, and an accompanying delegation who called on him at the Al Dhait Palace here.
Sheikh Saud welcomed the Chinese delegation and expressed hope that the visit would further strengthen bilateral ties between Ras Al Khaimah and China.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the traditional friendship and excellent business relations between UAE and China and discussed steps to further develop trade and investment relations between Ras Al Khaimah and Zhaoqing city.
“The bilateral trade and business relations between UAE and China have witnessed tremendous growth in recent years, with China emerging as one of the largest trading partners of the UAE. Ras Al Khaimah looks forward to expand the scope and momentum of the bilateral business ties which offers much room for further cooperation,” Sheikh Saud said.
He outlined Ras Al Khaimah’s ongoing efforts to diversify its economy and invited Chinese investors to explore investment opportunities offered by Ras Al Khaimah’s mega development projects like Dana Island and the Gateway City project.
Mayor Yang Haoming expressed admiration at the rapid development taking place in Ras Al Khaimah and said that Zhaoqing city was very keen to bolster business cooperation with the emirate.
“The remarkable success of the RAK Ceramics factory in the Guangdong Province clearly highlights the potential for investment and business cooperation between the two regions. Zhaoqing city has been experiencing annual GDP growth of around 14 percent in the past few years and we would like to enhance the existing business and investment partnerships with Ras Al Khaimah,” he added.
The high- level delegation also included Guo Feng, Vice Standing Mayor of the Zhaoqing Municipal Government, and a number of officials.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Sheikh Jamal bin Saqr bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Mohammed Al Khait, Advisor at the Ras Al Khaimah Ruler's Court, and other officials were present at the meeting.
