Ras Al Khaimah, March 5: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, inaugurated the new registration centre of Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) at Al Dhait here today.
Sheikh Saud toured the new EIDA office building, located behind the RAK Police headquarters, and was briefed about the progress in the implementation of the Population Register and the Identity Card Programme by top EIDA officials. The operations of the temporary EIDA registration centre at Al Safeer Mall have been discontinued following the opening of the new centre.
Darwish Ahmed Al Zarouni, Director General of EIDA, said that the new RAK registration centre would speed up the issuance of identity cards and provide better registration facilities for the people of the emirate. “The new centre is equipped with 10 registration lines and can process as many as 630 applications daily,” he added.
Sheikh Omar bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of RAK Ruler’s Private Affairs Department, Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of RAK Economic Development Department, Ahmed Mohamed Al Humairi, the General Secretary of Ministry of Presidential Affairs and EIDA Board member, Ahmed bin Amer, Director of EIDA RAK Registration Centre, and a number of officials were present at the function.
