Ras Al Khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, participated in the `Al Mutahida' campaign launched by Watani, the National Identity Programme, to commemorate and consolidate the significance and the underlying principles and values of the UAE union and to mark the essence of the UAE experience in the past 38 years.
Sheikh Saud affixed his fingerprint on the greeting post card addressed to President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, expressing congratulations on the anniversary of the Unification of the United Arab Emirates.
The programme was held in the presence of Ahmed Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Watani, and top officials from Watani who called on Sheikh Saud at the Al Dhait Palace to brief him about the ongoing Al Mutahida campaign which has received tremendous response from people across the country.
Sheikh Saud lauded the efforts undertaken by Watani to promote the national spirit and instill the principles of good citizenship, especially among the young generation, through the Al Mutahida campaign. Sheikh Saud said that the campaign provided a platform for the people to appreciate and congratulate UAE's wise leadership for the remarkable social and economic development achieved by the country.
Ahmed Obaid Al Mansoori thanked Sheikh Saud for his support and participation in the campaign and said that the Al Mutahida campaign has generated tremendous response from both UAE citizens and residents as the country gears up to celebrate the 38th UAE National Day.
The Al Mutahida campaign launched by Watani, in association with Emirates Post, Emirates Association for Fine Arts and Tahskeel arts center has three major events including a postcard campaign in which people are encouraged to get a copy of the special postcards and mail them to the UAE's leaders in a mark of solidarity.
The other events include the Al Mutahida Art Competition in which young artists in the UAE will present their personal artistic interpretation of the word Mutahida meaning `United'.
Ahmed Obaid Al Mansoori said that a judging panel will select the best submissions which will be exhibited alongside the works of renowned artists at the Al Mutahida Art Exhibition to be held at The Dubai Mall from November 26 to December 5, 2009.
