Ras Al Khaimah, March 15: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, today received Dr Abdullatif Mohamed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) and an accompanying delegation who called on him at the Al Dhait Palace here.
Sheikh Saud commended the IAT for obtaining the academic accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in the US. He also expressed hope that IAT would continue to pursue excellence in imparting technical and professional competencies to the young generation.
Dr Abdullatif Mohamed Al Shamsi briefed Sheikh Saud about the academic programmes and the new initiatives being implemented at the IAT campuses. “We are very proud of having received the SACS accreditation. It is one of the prestigious accreditation bodies internationally and their accreditation will definitely help IAT students as they pursue their higher education abroad or locally. Apart from that, the recent initiative of introducing Grade- 9 to students would expand the IAT student community by around 60 percent from next year onwards.”
